Thorax and abdomen of the dog

$2,500.00

This Elnady specimen showcases the external features of thoracic and abdominal body walls of an ethically-sourced dog. It includes the thoracic wall muscles, nerves, and blood vessels. The abdominal wall is also fully represented, with layers such as the external and internal abdominal obliques, transversus abdominis, transversalis fascia, and parietal peritoneum visible. All thoracic and abdominal organs are intact and ready for dissection.

In the thoracic region, the lungs are attached and can be removed to expose deeper structures. The heart remains within the pericardium, alongside other notable structures like the phrenic nerve. The stomach and part of the duodenum are opened to reveal internal features, including the cardiac opening, rugae, and duodenal papilla.

All abdominal viscera are preserved in their natural topographic positions, including the liver, stomach, spleen, kidneys, adrenal glands, and small and large intestines. Several parts of the connecting peritoneum are also displayed, such as the mesoduodenum, mesojejunum, mesoileum, mesocolon, ileocecal fold, and the greater and lesser omentum. The liver lobes, caudal vena cava, and kidneys are visible.

If you require additional dissection of that model, this option is available upon request for an additional 100$.
